(WILKES-BARRE)-- Tis the season of road projects. In fact, 2 big projects will help build a better downtown Wilkes-Barre. The first project, is in the area of South Main Street. Crews are working on repaving the roadways. According the officials, if you park there, your vehicle will be towed. Expect traffic tie-ups in downtown Wilkes-Barre. The 2nd project is more of a hefty one. Road crews will work on the re-alignment of Wilkes-Barre Boulevard and expand Coal Street to 5 lanes. This project is expected to take until 2012. That area as well is expected to have traffic backups. Adustments scheduled as part of the project include: installation of more than two miles of storm drainage systems; new sidewalks and curbs on each side of Coal Street; over 95 brand new streetlights; new traffic signals, including handicap features, at the areas that now have traffic lights, and repaving of Wilkes-Barre Boulevard from Scott Street to Market Street.
