According to 911 officials, a Jeep rolled over, killing one person and sending one person to the hospital. It happened just before 6:30 Wednesday evening. State Police say 41 year old Chris Gibas of Pottsville was killed in the crash. The passenger, 48 year old Rick Reilly was flown to a hospital where he is listed in stable condition. U.S. 209 was closed for about 90 minutes and reopened around 830. Police continue to investigate. We'll have more details as they become available. LOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP, LYCOMING COUNTY-The coroner has been called to the scene of an accident in Lycoming County. A car has crashed in Loyalsock Township earlier this morning along East Third Avenue near a milk business. The wreck happened in the 1800 block of East Third Street. Scanner reports indicate this stemmed from a police pursuit. We have a crew on scene and will have the very latest tonight on Eyewitness News at 6. We also go a report that motorists are advised that Route 2014 (East Third Street), also known as the "Golden Strip," in Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County, is closed from Westminster Drive to Tinsman Avenue due to a vehicle crash. The closure is expected to be lifted later this afternoon.
